Desert tortoises are usually solitary, but sometimes they share burrows. When males come across each other, they might fight for dominance by trying to flip one another over. Males are larger than females and can be identified by curved horns on the lower shell, beneath the neck. Once they reach adulthood, desert tortoises can live between 30-50 years in the wild, and sometimes up to 80 years. Unfortunately, due to habitat destruction desert tortoises are struggling for survival

The desert is home to a wide variety of impressive and varying creatures. From mammals to insects, reptiles and birds, and everything in between, the natural ecosystem preserved in desert environments is fascinating.Desert animals are able to strike a delicate balance between the hunter and hunted, carnivores and herbivores, without entirely throwing off the balance of other creatures within the desert. Many desert-dwelling creatures are versatile and easily adaptable. Found in many climates, the harsh conditions of the desert seemingly do not phase them. Likewise, many birds (check out our bird games) mentioned below choose to migrate to the desert during the winter or have otherwise found unique ways to live in sparse water habitats within the desert.

Cutout cookies are always a special treat since they require a bit more care to create than a basic drop cookie (though we love these easy cookie recipes too). Cut in cute or classic shapes, these cookies are a delight, but the most eyecatching part has to be the icing. It’s also the most finicky to make. However, frosting cookies with a classic royal icing doesn’t need to be overly complex. We’ve got a few simple techniques that’ll have you making professional-looking cookies in no time. Make sure you know these helpful cookie decorating tips.

Like many other vegetables, green beans should first be blanched before freezing. Blanching is a process that involves boiling vegetables in water before cooling them quickly in a large quantity of ice cold water (60 degrees Fahrenheit or below) to stop the cooking process. This stops the enzyme actions which can cause a loss of flavor, color and texture, therefore ensuring that your green beans will preserve their freshness while frozen! If you're not exactly sure how to blanch these hearty greens, here's how to freeze and blanch in four easy steps:.

Hello hope you are doing well and good. The answer of your question is written below.Hope you like it,Where do you put your cutlery when you've finished eating? The knife and fork go either straight up and down in the centre of the plate with the handles resting on the rim, or pointing, between 10 and 4 o'clock. In each case the tines of the fork should be facing up, and the knife edge pointing in. In easy words, to signal you are finished eating, place your knife and fork parallel on the plate pointing upwards between 11 and 12 o'clock.

You can also use your microwave in a pinch. Place 3-4 tortillas at a time on a microwave-safe plate and cover with a slightly damp paper towel. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, then set aside until ready to serve. This method can sometimes make tortillas a bit gummy, but it still works if you're short on time.

Mali Unfortunately yes. When we walk our dog in the countryside we are very careful that she does not turn around to eat her poop...She eats other people's poo too, rolls around in animal carcasses (imagine the smell of a corpse in the car :). She eats everything and doesn't matter to me.A veterinarian explained to us why she was doing this, but it slipped my mind. If anyone has the answer. All I can say is that it's pretty run it's dogs, but mine is still champion poo.Edit: there is still a point that I didn't specify, they don't do this for food, there is another reason behind it. But I prefer to let a pro talk about it.

As a gardener, chances are having squirrels prancing about in your outdoor space is never a welcome sight. After all, the fluffy-tailed rodents have developed a mighty reputation for gobbling up flowers and vegetable plants. Completely banishing squirrels from your garden probably isn't possible, however, there are practical ways to deter them. While squirrels are technically considered rodents—like mice, rats, and hamsters—they are more visible than their counterparts. American squirrel species range in color from white to black, but gray is the most common color; their hue stands out against the verdant landscapes they love to visit. "Though squirrels are seen as playful and mischievous animals, they can be very destructive to gardens," explains Joe Felegi, General Manager of Critter Control. "Many people think squirrels only eat nuts, but their diet can include fruits, plant buds, stalks, and proteins like insects." Like rabbits, squirrels can make sure work of your prized plants, leaving you with more frustration than love for the garden visitors. Fortunately, there are a few ways to protect those plants (and your sanity
